Employee Wellness Programmes

Kaelo adopts a proactive, preventative and patient-centred approach to managing illness and promoting wellness in the workplace. Our integrated employee wellness programmes focus on the overall health and well-being of employees and their related productivity. Client relations managers work with clients to establish a strategic and needs-driven wellness programme, including wellness day screening events, education and training workshops, the provision of health-related newsletters, emails and posters, Executive health, Wellness Ambassadors in the workplace, absenteeism management and policy development. These initiatives all boost awareness and uptake of the programme, leading to improved health and well-being.

Employees with a chronic disease or HIV/AIDS can enrol on our Patient Management programme. They then receive regular and ongoing bio-psycho-social™ support, information and counselling from qualified Patient Managers who help employees to access treatment and make lifestyle changes to improve their health and well-being significantly. Clients receive regular reports highlighting utilisation, risks, successes and overall progress.
Patient Managers are available 24 hours a day, year-round, providing telephonic and onsite counselling services in all official languages. They provide information and advice about illness and wellness, including the following:

  • Changing lifestyle behaviour for improved wellness
  • Diabetes
  • Diet and exercise
  • Healthy and positive living
  • High cholesterol
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hypertension and high blood pressure
  • Nutrition
  • Obesity
  • Sexual health
  • Tuberculosis
