Ernesto Blanco Garcia and Thatohatsi Matsetela examine how societal norms and stereotypes negatively affect men’s mental health, hindering open discussions. It emphasizes that these issues impact all men, regardless of sexuality, and highlights the pressure created by societal and traditional expectations. These expectations can lead to emotional suppression and self-stigmatization, making it difficult for men to seek help. The presentation also addresses harmful stereotypes, such as the belief that “men don’t cry” or that grooming is feminine and offers strategies to challenge these views to promote mental well-being.
